The work we do
Pitched and flat, domestic and commercial — from a single slipped slate to a full strip and re-cover, across Gloucester and twenty miles around.
How a job actually runs
- We come and look. On the roof, not from the pavement. You get photographs of what we found and a plain explanation of what is causing it.
- Fixed price in writing. Scope, materials and cost set out before anything starts, and the number does not move unless you change what you have asked for.
- We tell you if you do not need it. If a repair will see you another decade we will say so, even when the re-roof is the bigger invoice.
- Nothing gets covered up unseen. On a re-roof you see the battens and timbers before the new covering goes on.
- We leave it tidy. Sheeted while we work, swept at the end, waste taken away.
- Twenty years of cover. Every job carries our full written guarantee on all workmanship and all materials.
Buildings we work on
Gloucester’s housing is mixed, and each type asks something different. Slate on the Victorian terraces around Kingsholm and Barton, where shared valleys and chimney stacks do most of the work. Concrete interlocking tiles on the interwar and post-war semis through Longlevens, Hucclecote and Tuffley, a good number now at the age where they go porous. Newer estates at Quedgeley and Abbeymead, where the problems are usually dry verges, ridge fixings and flashing detail rather than the covering itself. Stone and clay pantile out towards Churchdown, Brockworth and the villages on the Cotswold edge.
We also work for landlords, letting agents and businesses — see commercial roofing for flat roof replacement, sheet roofing and scheduled maintenance.
If you are not sure which category your roof falls into, that is what the survey is for. It costs nothing to find out.
